Modelle Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the “Modelle” browser extension (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes information when you use its AI virtual try‑on features. The extension has a single purpose: help you preview try‑on results for product images you select while shopping online.
Scope
This policy applies to the Modelle Chrome/Firefox extension and its in‑product features. It does not cover third‑party websites or the AI providers you choose to use through the extension.
Data We Process
- User‑provided images: the photo you upload in the extension (optional) and the product image you select on a web page when you start a try‑on.
- Settings: language preference, chosen provider, and—if you opt in—your API keys for that provider.
We do not intentionally collect government IDs, contact lists, precise location, payment data, browsing history, analytics/telemetry, or diagnostic logs beyond what the browser provides for basic operation.
How Processing Works
- Images are read only when you explicitly trigger a try‑on (right‑click menu or the popup).
- Your selected product image and (optionally) your uploaded photo are sent via HTTPS to the AI provider you chose to generate a composite result.
- The result is returned to your browser for preview, download, or replacement of the page image. We do not run unrelated background collection.
Where Data Is Stored
- Local storage (chrome.storage.local): your settings and, if you choose, your uploaded photo and API keys remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the extension.
- Remote processing: images are transmitted only to the provider you selected to fulfill your request. We do not operate our own backend that stores your images. Providers may temporarily cache data—see their policies.
Third‑Party Processors
Depending on your choice, processing may occur with one or more of the following providers: FAL AI (fal.ai) and Seedream (Ark/Doubao), or another provider you explicitly select. Providers act as processors only to produce your try‑on result. Your API key, if supplied, is used solely to authenticate your requests to that provider.
What We Don’t Do
- No selling of data.
- No sharing with third parties for advertising or profiling.
- No remotely hosted executable code; the extension is bundled and served by the web store.
Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
- Contract/performance: to deliver the try‑on feature you request.
- Legitimate interests: secure, maintain, and improve the extension with least‑data processing.
- Consent: when you choose to upload a photo, provide an API key, or initiate remote processing.
Retention
Local data persists until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Remote provider retention is controlled by each provider; review their privacy policies. We do not retain images on our own servers.
Security
- Transport security via HTTPS to providers.
- Least‑privilege design: access only on user action; minimal required Chrome permissions.
- We cannot guarantee absolute security; avoid uploading sensitive photos you would not share with your chosen provider.
Your Choices & Rights
- Delete local data anytime from the extension, or uninstall the extension to remove local storage.
- If you use your own API key, you can revoke it at the provider.
- EEA/UK: you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and data portability. Contact us to exercise these rights; for provider‑held data, contact the provider directly.
- California (CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information as defined by CPRA. You may request access or deletion of any data we hold directly (typically none beyond your device).
Children
Not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly process children’s data.
International Transfers
Depending on the provider you select and your location, processing may occur outside your country. We rely on the provider safeguards described in their policies.
Third‑Party Links
When you navigate to third‑party sites (e.g., stores or provider dashboards), their terms and privacy policies apply.
Contact
Questions or requests: contact us via the Chrome Web Store listing or X/Twitter @yanhua1010. If you prefer email, provide one and we will add it to this page.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. We will revise the “Effective date” above and publish the updated version here.
